CMS Library

Welcome to the CMS Literacy/Technology Center page!

Wazzup in the Cougar Den?

CMS library is the center of the school. You can relax in the morning, read, visit with your friends.  This is a full library with magazines to read and books to check out.  Some times there are chess, checker or card games in progress.

Author visits?

Yes, we’re proud of our author visits over the years.  Over the years we’ve  welcomed: Marlene Perez, Unexpected Development; Charles Shields, Mockingbird: A portrait of Harper Lee; and Frank Beddor, Looking Glass Wars Triology, Hatter M graphic novel, plus much more. This year we welcomed Julie Berry, author of The Passion of Dolssa and The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place. She gave a great presentation to our 7th grade class.

Reading Rocks Café Book Club?

Since 2000 CMS is proud to have its Reading Rocks Café Book Club.  This allows students to see what’s new in young adult literature.  This club is held at lunch time twice a month.  It is open to any eligible student who loves to read OR who hasn’t quite found the type of books they like to read.  Books vary from suspense to historical fiction or science fiction and comedy.

Did you say dogs at CMS?

We have the pleasure of having Annie, our Library Dog come and hang out with our students. Dogs have been a part of CMS for over 25 years.
